Urban Forestry Initiative

The City of Oberlin Public Works Department planted Planted 86 trees throughout the community representing 23 different species for the city’s urban forest. Among numerous other benefits, a diverse urban forest sequesters carbon dioxide, mitigates the urban heat island effect, improves resiliency, reduces storm water run-off and increases property values.
